BET Awards 2022: Check Out Some of Our Favorite Records from Performer Brandy

Did you catch the singer’s surprise appearance at this year’s ceremony alongside Jack Harlow?

Brandy aka The Bible Voice, surprised viewers at the BET Awards 2022 after taking the stage with up-and-coming rapper Jack Harlow for an unforgettable rendition of the Kentucky native’s hit single “First Class.” The “Full Moon” singer shocked fans as she tossed out her signature vocal for a hot 16, reintroducing herself. The star has been rapping under the alias Bran’ Nu since 2009 when she worked with Timbaland on the track “Meet in The Middle" on his Shock Value 2 album. In honor of her dazzling performance at this year’s event, check out our favorite track from the singer-songwriter Brandy.

  • “Almost Doesn’t Count”

This Shelly Peiken and Guy Roche-penned ballad “Almost Doesn’t Count” served as the fourth single off her sophomore studio album  Never Say Never, released in 1998. The track finds the star singing about an on-and-off again romance and learning to let go of a love that is there anymore. The record earned Brandy a nomination for “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance'' at the 42nd annual Grammy Awards.

  • “Angel in Disguise”

“Angel in Disguise” is another Brandy favorite of ours on her second studio album and was written by industry legends Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Fred Jerkins III, LaShawn Daniels, Traci Hale, and more. Brandy and Joseph Lewis Thomas took on production. The single is one of Brandy’s most successful projects.

  • “Brokenhearted”

“Brokenhearted” is one of many standout tracks from Brandy’s self-titled debut studio album Brandy. The second version of the popular track features vocals from Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris.

  • “Have You Ever”

The Kevin Bray-directed visual for Brandy’s single “Have You Ever” was just as popular as the track itself. In it, the singer roams her best friend’s empty house, whom she secretly has feelings for, waiting for him to return. The song earned a nomination at the MTV Video Music Awards for “Best R&B Video” but lost to Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Woop (That Thing).”

  • “Missing You” Feat. Brandy, Gladys Knight, Tamia, and Chaka Khan from the Set It Out Soundtrack

Award-winning singers and songwriters Brandy, Gladys Knight, Tamia, and Chaka Khan all united for this R&B ballad titled “Missing You” off the soundtrack for the 1996 motion picture film Set It Off starring Jada Pinkett, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise in her breakthrough film debut.
