Chilling Video Shows The Moment Just Before Bronx Teen Matthew McCree Was Fatally Stabbed By Classmate Abel Cedeno
A nine-second video reportedly showing the moment leading up to the stabbing of 15-year-old Matthew McCree by his classmate Abel Cedeno, 18, has been released in an effort to show the suspect acted in self-defense.
Cedeno's attorney, Robert Feldman, believes the video, taken at Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation in the Bronx, shows the alleged bullying his client endured by classmates, reported PIX 11.
“You will see clearly. Crystal clear. Beyond any doubt that our client, Abel Cedeno who is wearing a pink shirt is being accosted, assaulted and beset by Mr McCree whose wearing a white shirt,” Feldman told PIX 11.
Feldman went on to say his client may have been the one who was harmed had he not protected himself.
"If my client did not do this he would have been severely, severely beat up again or maybe even killed," Feldman told PIX 11.
The video ends shortly before the moment McCree is stabbed.
Sanford Rubenstein, who is representing the estate of Matthew McCree, said in a statement to PIX11, "A grand jury indicted Abel Cedeno for manslaughter based on evidence which most likely included this video in its entirety. No conclusions can be drawn showing a part of it out of context."
Cedeno pleaded not guilty to charges of manslaughter. His next court appearance is March 6.
