Beyoncé Runs the Charts with 4
Beyoncé runs the world and the Billboard charts this week, landing at the No. 1 spot with her fourth album, the straightforward- titled 4. At 310,000 copies sold, it's Beyoncé's lowest selling debut but her fourth at No. 1, making her only the third artist to have their first four albums top the charts. Previously Britney Spears and DMX have held the honor.
Jill Scott, who was No. 1 last week for the first time in her career, falls to No. 5 this week, with 55,000 units sold of her fifth effort, The Light of the Sun. But the sunny Philadelphia native was expecting the dip.
"I know I only got a week! You know, Beyoncé's coming out," she recently told MTV News at last weekend's Essence Music Festival. "And she's amazing. And I know I got a week, but I'm so glad I got my week. I'm enjoying it; I'm lavishing in it."
Elsewhere in the top 10, Big Sean nets a high-ranking position for his debut album, Finally Famous, which lands at No. 3 with 87,000 copies sold. The album had a bonafide hit single in the Chris Brown–featuring "My Last," and also boasted guests Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and Wiz Khalifa.
