Kanye West Performs Medley on SNL 40

The rapper started off his epic three-song set rhyming while lying on his back.

Kanye West brought innovation and new fashion to the SNL 40 stage on Sunday night, performing a three-song set all while crouching under a giant LED light.

The eclectic rapper started off his performance lying on his back while rhyming into a microphone held to his mouth from above. He started off his set with a performance of his breakout hit "Jesus Walks" before rising for his tribute to daughter North West, "Only One." The epic set ended after the debut performance of his new song, "Wolves," featuring Sia and Chicago's Vic Mensa.

Also appearing on the special 40-year-celebration special of Saturday Night Live were Chris Rock, who introduced SNL favorite Eddie Murphy, Miley Cyrus, who performed her own rendition of Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover," Alicia Keys, who performed her smash "Empire State of Mind," and Maya Rudolph, who delivered a hilarious impersonation of Beyoncé — with wind-blown hair and a black leotard. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
