Jaheim Faces New Animal Cruelty Charges in Georgia
R&B singer Jaheim is facing fresh legal trouble after being arrested in Georgia on multiple counts of animal cruelty.
According to local news WSBTV, the “Put That Woman First” artist, born Jaheim Hoagland, was taken into custody on May 1 in Atlanta and charged with six counts of animal cruelty after authorities claim the singer endangered the lives of half a dozen dogs by failing to provide clean water, housing them in unsanitary conditions, and keeping them in a space with poor ventilation.
Breeds included four pit bull terriers, a French bulldog, and a hound mix.
While the star was released the following day, this isn’t his first brush with animal cruelty allegations.
Back in 2021, the New Jersey native was arrested and charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care to an animal.
Police at the time found 15 dogs living in deplorable conditions at his Hillsborough home—one of which was in such critical condition that it had to be euthanized.
The surviving animals, which included pit bull mixes, American Staffordshire terriers, and a boxer mix, were rescued and later put up for adoption.
Despite his legal troubles, Jaheim has remained active in the music scene. Last year, he joined Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, and K. Michelle on the Love Hard Tour.
As of now, no additional court dates have been publicly announced in connection with the current case.
