James Earl Jones, Cicely Tyson Headed to Broadway

Veteran actors to star in The Gin Game.

Two of Hollywood's most enduring stars will take the stage on Broadway this fall. Cicely Tyson and James Earl Jones have signed on for a revival of D.L. Coburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Gin Game, Playbill.com reports.
The play centers around two elderly residents at a nursing home who strike up a friendship over games of gin rummy.

The show will begin previews on September 21 and officially open on October 13.

The veteran actors previously worked together on the stage decades ago, when they starred in Broadway's A Hand Is on the Gate in 1966 and in the long-running production of Jean Genet’s The Blacks.
Both actors have been celebrated across various mediums. Tyson won a Tony Award for her work in A Trip to Bountiful, as well as three Emmy Awards and an Oscar nomination for Sounder. Jones himself is a two-time Tony Award winner for Fences and The Great White Hope and has also won three Emmys, a Grammy and an honorary Oscar.
