Authorities Say Matching Finger Tattoos Potentially Link Singer D4vd to Teen Found Dead in His Tesla
Singer D4vd has a tattoo on his right index finger that reads “Shhh…” — the same tattoo found on the body of a 15-year-old girl discovered in his Tesla, according to TMZ.
Authorities confirmed that the victim has been identified as Celeste Rivas, and said she had “a tattoo on her right index finger with the letters ‘Shhh…’” TMZ noted that “David’s tattoo is also on his right index finger.”
Earlier today, law enforcement sources who spoke with ABC News, released details about the body.
Forensics experts have determined the victim was a girl between 14 and 15 years old. Her name has not been released as authorities work to notify her family. The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office has not yet determined a cause of death.
The discovery of the body was made on Sept. 8 after Los Angeles police responded to a tow yard near Mansfield Avenue and Romaine Street in Hollywood. Officers were investigating a pungent odor coming from the Tesla, which had been impounded and sitting at the lot for two days. Police said the car was abandoned earlier near Bluebird Avenue and Doheny Drive before being towed.
Police sources confirmed the girl’s body was found inside a bag placed in the vehicle’s front trunk and was already in a state of decomposition. The victim was described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 71 pounds, with wavy black hair. She was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, and stud earrings, and had a tattoo on her right index finger reading “Shhh…”
TMZ also notes this particular tattoo isn't uncommon, appearing on Rihanna, Lindsay Lohan, and Lily Allen among other celebs.
The Tesla is registered to David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, a 20-year-old singer who rose to fame on TikTok and has more than 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He is currently on tour but is reportedly cooperating with investigators. He is scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on September 20.
Police say they are also investigating a separate case involving a body found in the trunk of a burned Honda at another Los Angeles tow yard. LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said the coroner ruled that death a homicide. Investigators have found no evidence connecting the two cases.
