Omarion Opens Up About Apryl Jones And Lil Fizz: 'I Could Be Acting A Damn Fool Right Now'

The singer recently spoke with ESSENCE about his measured response to Lil Fizz dating Apryl Jones.

Famously acknowledged as the king of unbothered, Omarion found his name unwillingly pulled into the ensuing drama surrounding his former girlfriend and mother of his two children, Apryl Jones, and B2K bandmate Dreux “Lil Fizz” Frédéric after the Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood stars went public with their relationship in 2019.

  • The controversial coupledom prompted strong public scrutiny that kept everyone’s eyes peeled on a move of spite from O, but the R&B singer kept his peace throughout the ordeal. Speaking openly about the situation, he recently told Vlad TV that he  “don’t feel no ways” about the controversy.

Thereafter, the singer unveiled the B2K-less lineup for the second leg of The Millennium Tour (and to the attention of many B2K fans on Fizz’s 33rd birthday, no less).

  • While it seemed Omarion had laid the case to rest on his end, he recently opened up even more to MadameNoire about how he felt seeing the mother of his two children dating his bandmate.

“I just made the decision to be respectful to my kids and to be respectful to myself because it’s like, everybody is like, ‘I would respond like this,’ or 'I would respond like that,' but what happens after that?” he said. “And then also, it’s like, what am I here for? Am I here for that? No. I’m here for my kids.”

  • In an interesting turn of events, Jones and Fizz’s relationship turned out to be more short-lived than the public expected when she suggested in a recent interview that the two quietly went their separate ways. Now, in a newly released feature with ESSENCE, O has also opened up about how he internally digested Jones and Fizz’s romance, which seems to have fizzled out just as quickly as it started.

“It’s really about self-reflecting because I saw how far I could take it. When you’re a serious person like me, you [have] to consider all things,” he said. “I think when you know yourself well, that’s the thing you do first. I could be acting a damn fool right now but is that the best thing to do?”

He continued: “Of course having children and just keeping that in perspective and knowing that it’s not all about you that really helped me maintain my position. You just have to know yourself well enough to know what’s important. And when you do that, things just don’t get in your way. You don’t allow them to.”

Truer words have never been spoken!
