Former NFL Player Le’Ron McLain Begs League For Help With Concussions in Expletive Filled Twitter Rant
Le’Ron McClain is struggling with brain trouble and he wants the NFL to help.
The former Pro Bowl fullback launched an expletive filled tirade on Twitter begging for help with injuries as a result of playing football.
McClain played fullback for seven seasons in the NFL. A position ripe for sustaining head trauma, as they are often used as blockers to open holes for their teammates.
The NFL has largely succeeded in quieting down the narrative surrounding concussions after they settled the federal lawsuit for a reported $1B.
Still, that amount of money spread out over 20,000 players doesn’t go very far, when you take into account existing expenses due to brain injuries suffered while playing.
McClain has clearly reached a tipping point and continued to go in on the league saying he needs the NFL to “speed the process up.”
As it relates to players dealing with traumatic brain injuries, the NFL needs to step up in making the processes easier for players to get access to these critically needed funds.
The league and its fans lauds these players as warriors when they take the field. Too bad they treat them the same way this country treats its military heroes.
