Pitbull’s resonating statement celebrating Miami’s glass ceiling-breaking, hip-hop treasure Uncle Luke pretty much summed up his entire performance at the 2017 Hip Hop Awards on Tuesday (October 10): “There’s no Miami without Luke.”

After receiving the “I Am Hip Hop” award, Luke took to the stage to hand props to other members of Miami’s hip-hop finest like DJ Khaled and Rick Ross and share some inspiration on making the naysayers eat their words. But after his words were wrapped and homage was paid, it was time to “2 Live” with the audience. Luke gave Miami the twerk-happiest time of their lives, performing hits such as “Hydraulics,” “I Wanna Rock (Doo Doo Brown)” and even French Montana’s “Pop That” for Rozay’s verse. And the crowd went berserk when Miami’s femcee baddest hit the stage, Trina.

And right along with Luke’s cadre of twerk-triggered, back-poppin’ ladies dipping it up and down on the stage (complete with—yes—poles as well), the Internet got busy, too.
