The last few years have been rocky for DJ Mister Cee but there’s one thing that he’s sure of: the Notorious B.I.G. would be proud of him.

While working his day-to-day gig at Hot 97, the 48-year-old has had his sexual “transgressions” unearthed for the world to see. After a drag queen exposed their encounter last year, the Brooklyn spinner stepped down from Hot 97 only to change his mind the next day. He ended up staying with the station for another year until last month when he officially resigned.

Looking back at his achievements, and even the tough times, he knows that he could count on Biggie for support. “If Biggie was alive right now, he would definitely be proud of what I’ve accomplished,” Cee told XXL. “If Biggie was alive and I still was doing tributes to him, he would probably be like, ‘Yo, man stop that s**t. What the f**k are you doing?’ He probably would want me to stop going so hard for him."

Biggie also would’ve injected a little humor into a legal situation that’s not necessarily funny. In May of last year Cee was arrested for soliciting sex from a male prostitute who turned out to be an undercover cop. The incident occurred two years after he was busted for receiving oral sex from a 20-year-old man in a parked car.  

Still, Biggie would’ve had his back. “As far as what I went through, the unfortunate circumstances that I went through, he would definitely be behind me but he would be clowning me all day. He would probably be sending me gift cards for a Marriott hotel, like, ’N**a, go get a hotel,’ or something like that. Biggie was a clown and a lot of people didn’t really get to know that. Or sending me e-mails with date websites or some s**t like that, like, ‘Bro, check this out when you get a chance.’ [He would] be doing some dumb s**t like that but he would definitely be supportive.”
