Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook Almost Threw Hands at Each Other Last Night

Thunder teammates had to hold Russ back from getting at the two-time NBA MVP.

Keep it 100 — there was already bad blood between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors well before Kevin Durant left OKC to join Dub Nation last summer. The fact KD left to join the very franchise that the Thunder had on the ropes with a 3-1 lead in the 2016 Western Conference Finals, before choking the rest of the series, only doused the fire with gasoline.

That being said, it doesn't take much for something to pop off between the squads — even if KD isn't involved. Just ask Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook, who came close at throwing hands and scrapping during last night's Warriors-Thunder game in OKC.

With Durant still sidelined with his sprained MCL, Curry and Westbrook almost got into it right before halftime when the back-to-back NBA MVP sparked a shoving match with Thunder guard Semaj Christon, while lobbying for position during a jump-ball attempt.

That was all the excuse Russ needed to jump in and push Curry, as the two NBA superstars had to be held back from attacking each other.

Watch the near-scrap below.

After the Warriors won 111-95 to sweep the regular-season series with the Thunder, Westbrook spoke about going at Curry with almost as much zero chill as the act itself.

By the grace of the basketball gods, let's hope that Russ and the Thunder wind up facing Steph, KD and the Warriors in the playoffs.

Imagine how real that series will get.
