Brandy and Monica Set to Make History with The Boy Is Mine Tour
Brandy and Monica are finally going on tour together. The Boy Is Mine Tour was officially announced on CBS Mornings, marking the first time the two R&B icons will co-headline a tour. Produced by Black Promoters Collective, the 24-city run starts October 16 and wraps December 7.
This moment has been over two decades in the making. Their 1998 duet “The Boy Is Mine” spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned them a Grammy. It became a cultural reset for R&B, and now, they’re bringing that energy to the stage with a live show fans have been waiting years for.
Kelly Rowland, Muni Long, and "American Idol" Season 23 winner Jamal Roberts will be joining the tour. Each artist brings something different, from veteran vocals to new-school momentum, making this lineup one of the most stacked of the year.
Momentum for the tour picked up after Brandy and Monica made a surprise appearance in Ariana Grande’s “the boy is mine” music video. That cameo sparked a viral moment online. Soon after, they recorded the official remix with Grande, which earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, years after the original took home Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group in 1999.
To accompany the announcement, a short film directed by Ethan Tobman was released. Known for working with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, Tobman brings a theatrical, high-stakes visual that pulls from the drama of the original single and sets the tone for the upcoming tour.
Tickets go on sale Friday, June 27, at 10 AM local time on Ticketmaster. Presale starts Thursday, June 26, at 10 AM using the code BPC.
