Usher’s Custody Trial to Resume Despite Stepson’s Death

Judge says he will not postpose singer’s court date with ex-wife.

Despite the recent death of Tameka Raymond’s son, the judge hearing her custody case with former hubby Usher has refused to postpose the trial, saying it will resume later this month.

According to TMZ, Usher asked to have the court date pushed back, claiming he felt, because of the recent passing of Tameka's son, the court hearing would cause "unnecessary stress and strain" for himself, Tameka, and their two small children.

Tameka, however, disagreed, saying that Usher was just playing to the press and that his concern was "bogus." Usher, she said, "visited Kile in the hospital only once" during his 15 days on life support.

A judge in Fulton County, Georgia has now ruled that the trial will resume on Aug. 13 as scheduled, and Usher will take the stand.

In May, Usher and Tameka were ordered to work out a custody agreement amongst themselves or the judge would impose a temporary order, deciding how the two will split time with their children.

The trial later this month is expected to last only a few more days.
