Protesters to Hillary Clinton: 'The Hell You Talmbout?'

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's rally at Clark Atlanta University was interrupted by student protesters of the Altanta University Consortium, which includes Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College and Morehouse College.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's rally at Clark Atlanta University was interrupted by student protesters of the Altanta University Consortium, which includes Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College and Morehouse College.

Protesters began chanting, "the hell you talmbout" to Clinton, as she began her speech Friday afternoon, according to Buzzfeed. This continued until the demonstrators were eventually escorted out of the event. Apparently, the group was frustrated that Clinton did not provide them with a space to discuss the issues of the African-American community before holding a rally at the school.

Videos taken and uploaded to Twitter account @AUCShutItDown showed students outside the event speaking with organizers of Clinton's rally and also singer Usher, who was there in support of Clinton. The protesters were accused of not letting Clinton speak on the issues that concerned them before they disrupted Clinton's speech. But the students of #AUCShutItDown and #Hillary4Who stood their ground.
"I think the issue here is the fact she had to think about the fact that this consortium of Black schools, we come out of Black activism. Of course we're going to turn out and say that we have questions. The issue is the fact that Hillary never allowed us that space to ask," said one female student.
Another male student who was vocal in the discussion outside the event also added, "We're not going to allow for Hillary to come here and to have a cookie-cutter Black conversation and to exploit Black production for her vote."
During Clinton's speech at the school she spoke out in support of criminal justice reform in Atlanta, according to the AJC.com. The move was part of her broader plan for criminal justice reform that she is expected to roll out in the next several days.
In a statement, the members of the #AUCShutItDown coalition expressed their own mission, which involves the "eradication of harmful practices" that exploit individuals of the African Diaspora including police brutality, the exclusion of women, LGBTQIA, differently-abled, poor and other marginalized groups.
