Tory Lanez Detained For Alleged Marijuana Possession At Las Vegas Airport

The rapper was in the middle of boarding a flight before a TSA agent allegedly found a large amount of marijuana in one of his bags.

Rapper Tory Lanez was recently detained at a Las Vegas Airport for marijuana allegedly found in his bag.

According to TMZ, Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was stopped on Sunday (May 1) when he was in the middle of boarding a flight before a TSA agent allegedly found a large amount of marijuana in one of his bags, law enforcement confirmed.

While recreational weed is legal in Nevada, it is not legal federally, and it's not permitted to fly with the drug. TSA temporarily detained the Alone At Prom artist but soon let him go.

It’s unclear if Lanez will face charges for attempting to board a flight with marijuana in his bag, but the investigation is ongoing.

In other Tory Lanez news, the 29-year-old was taken into custody before being released on bond after authorities said he violated court orders prohibiting him from contacting Megan Thee Stallion or discussing any discovery in the case with outside parties.

Lanez was arrested during the time of the shooting and charged with carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. He was released on $35,000 bail hours later the same day. In Oct. 2020, he was charged with one felony count, each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, according to CBS News.

He has pleaded not guilty. His next court hearing is set for June, before the trial start date, which is currently scheduled for Sept. 14, 2022. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of roughly 23 years.
