'Tyler Perry’s Sistas:' Tony Steps Up as Danni’s Crisis Deepens
Danni’s trauma takes center stage in this episode of Tyler Perry’s Sistas. The hour opens with Dr. Kresha directly asking Danni if she was assaulted. Danni still won’t say the words, but the doctor can clearly read between the lines. Because she’s so frantic, Kresha gives her a sedative and Danni falls asleep. That’s when Tony arrives. Dr. Kresha reassures him he did the right thing by calling her, but she can’t share details of their conversation beyond the fact that Danni feels intense guilt about hurting him. Anything else must come from Danni herself and we know she’s not ready. Even if she were, Tony might react emotionally and put himself in a dangerous situation trying to avenge her.
Elsewhere, Andi’s mother prepares to return to Florida but first meets up with her boyfriend, Mr. Keys, to tell him how much she’s enjoyed their time together. He clearly feels the same until she reveals she has stage-two cancer. The prognosis is good, but she has to go home for treatment, cutting their time short. Fortunately, Mr. Keys isn’t going anywhere. The two decide to continue seeing each other and he promises to support her however he can.
Near the end of the episode, Danni finally wakes up but remains shut down. Tony calls Zac and asks him to relay a message to Fatima so she and Andi can come help. When they arrive, Tony explains Danni has locked herself in the bathroom and won’t open up to him. He hopes she’ll talk to them instead. Danni is surprised to see her friends, but they gently coax her out. Once they notice the bruises, they demand answers. Danni still refuses to say what happened, and things escalate when Andi suggests calling the police even though viewers know a cop is the one who hurt her. Big yikes.
