Drake Presents the ‘Hood Grammys’ on Instagram

The OVO boss celebrates his favorite rap releases of the year.

Drake was in a giving mood on Sunday, so he decided to give back to the hood. The “0 to 100” rapper handed out his “Hood Grammys” on Instagram, recognizing the hottest hip hop songs of 2014.

Drizzy started off the hilarious string of posts with an image of the Grammy and announcing that Brooklyn’s own Bobby Shmurda won the award for "Vocal Performance of the Year.” The “Hood Grammy” for “Best Performance by a Group” was next. He nominated to Rae Sremmurd and Rich Gang for their respective hits "No Flex Zone" and "Lifestyle.” OG Maco’s "U Guessed It" featuring Key! won the honors for “Best All Around Turn Up."

The OVO boss made sure to celebrate his own artists as well. He gave the “Hood Grammy for "Best Latin Club Anthem" to ILOVEMAKONNEN for his club banger "Tuesday," which features Drake, and PARTYNEXTDOOR received "Mixtape of the Year" for PARTYNEXTDOOR Two.
By the time Drake got through the five Instagram posts "#HoodGrammys" hashtag was buzzing all over social media. You can say the “Trophies” rapper was sort of a modern day Robin Hood, taking from the rich to give back to the less fortunate.
