Shocking Tragedy: Former Playboy Playmate Stephanie Adams Jumped Off Manhattan Building With Her 7-Year-Old Son

The 47-year-old killed herself and her child this morning.

Shocking news to report. A former Playmate from 1992 named Stephanie Adams jumped off the top floor of the Gotham Hotel around 8:15 a.m. today, according to The New York Post. Adams also had her son with her, killing them both. Adams was 47 years old and her son was 7. Their bodies were reportedly found on a second-floor landing in the hotel’s rear courtyard.

Adams reportedly checked into the Gotham Hotel at 6 p.m. yesterday. They stayed in a 25th-floor penthouse suite. NYPD Chief of Manhattan Detectives William Aubrey said at a press conference, “Early this morning investigators located an individual whose attention was drawn to that same second-floor area when he heard two loud noises. His attention was drawn to that and he discovered these two deceased individuals.”
The New York Post also reports, she was upset because she couldn’t take her son to Europe for the summer, "Stephanie Adams and her estranged husband, Charles Nicolai, were in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday morning — when the former Wilhelmina model asked a judge for permission to take their son, Vincent, to Spain for the summer, the pal said. Adams’ boyfriend lives in Spain and owns a home in London. Nicolai, who has visitation rights, fought against the plans, and ultimately a judge sided with the Wall Street chiropractor. Adams was ordered to turn over Vincent’s passport as a result."
The mom had a phone call with The Post yesterday at 1:15 p.m., saying, “All I want to do is take my son and get away from this nightmare for a few days,” she said. “But they won’t let me.” A close friend said she was shocked and never thought she would kill herself and her son.
Adams was a Playboy centerfold in the magazine’s November 1992 issue. She also appeared in several straight-to-video movies. According to her Wikipedia page, she was the first Playmate to come out as a lesbian. In addition, in 2006 she successfully sued the NYPD after a cop threw her to the ground, falsely claiming she had a gun. She received $1.2 million.
Adams divorced her son's father, Charles Nicolai, last year and was seeking child support.
