Chris Brown in Court to Settle Community Service Dispute

Judge gives Chris Brown a July 15 deadline to resolve the issue.

Chris Brown must make nice with Los Angeles prosecutors or else. According to the New York Daily News, the "Fine China" singer has been ordered by a judge to reach an accord with the District Attorney's office over a dispute about his community service time.

Brown has been accused by prosecutors of incorrectly reporting the days he spent cleaning tables, shredding documents and performing other tasks ordered by the court. If all parties involved fail to come to an agreement by July 15, the judge will proceed with a mini-trial on the suspected probation violation.

While in court on Monday, continuing his probation hearing for the 2009 assault of his on-again-off-again girlfriend Rihanna (they are currently off-again), a Los Angeles judge gave Brown a period of five weeks to resolve the community service dispute.

The singer was tight-lipped during yesterday's hearing, uttering a mere "thank you" to the judge after being addressed. Rih Rih did not make an appearance this time to support her ex. Instead Brown's mother accompanied him, sitting in the courtroom gallery.

Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, is convinced that neither his client nor the Virginia officials who approved his hours did anything out of order.

Brown is scheduled to complete his probation in 2014.
