The 2016 BET Awards was flooded with several memorable moments — Beyoncé pun intended — but it was Jesse Williams's incredible pro-Black acceptance speech for his Humanitarian Award that had the masses talking days later. Leaving a lasting impression on the social media community, Black Twitter chose to honor the activist by creating the #JesseWilliamsAppreciationDay hashtag, and it's pretty amazing.

It seems as Jesse's words resonated with the wider community in general as, according to Twitter stats, his speech was the most-Tweeted-about moment on last Sunday night and his follower count rose 10 percent, overnight.
