Report: DMX Returning To Rehab

The rapper is “putting family and sobriety first,” according to his rep.

DMX has reportedly checked himself into rehab.

In a post on his Instagram, a member of the rapper’s team wrote in the caption, “In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility. He apologizes for his cancelled shows and thanks his fans for their continued support.”

The news comes after a number of highs for DMX as it seemed as though he was getting his music career back on track. He went on tour for the 20th anniversary of his It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot album and performed at festivals like SXSW and Rolling Loud: Miami. He was also featured in GQ Magazine.

DMX has struggled with sobriety over the years. Last January, he was released from prison and began paying a $2.3 million restitution due to his tax evasion guilty plea.

It isn’t known where DMX has admitted himself or when he’ll be returning to music. He was scheduled to perform at Three 6 Mafia’s reunion concert on Saturday and Day 2 of Rolling Loud in New York on Sunday.
