'Tyler Perry’s Sisters:' Meet Tunde Oyeneyin

Here are five quick facts about Tunde Oyeneyin, who is stepping into the role of Maidson Truitt on season 10.

Tunde Oyeneyin (“Toon-day O-u-nane) is another new addition to the cast of “Tyler Perry’s Sistas.” She plays Madison Truitt, an ambitious 30-something entrepreneur navigating a male-dominated space with confidence and sass. Madison has reached a point in her life where she’s wondering if she spent too much time focusing on her career, and not starting a family. She is trying to figure out if family is even what she wants, and her new alliance with Fatima, Andi, and Danni will help her figure it all out. In real life, the Texas native of Nigerian descent has lived an ambitious life with many unexpected, yet serendipitous, twists and turns along the way. She went from being a makeup artist to a Peloton instructor to taking acting lessons, and now she's landed on one of the biggest TV shows on cable and streaming. Let’s take a look at her journey.

She Was a Makeup Artist

She was a makeup artist in the Los Angeles area for about 16 years before she started to get the fitness itch. The more she got into fitness, the more she wanted to build a wellness platform, and that led her to her first major pivot.

Fitness Was Personal

Oyeneyin struggled with her weight growing up, but decided to get a grip on her health and fitness once and for all. Her foray into fitness led her to become one of Peloton’s most popular instructors. She also became a Nike athlete and appeared on various TV shows, highlighting her skills as an athlete and instructor.

According to Sports Illustrated’s editorial team, the women who are chosen for this distinction are usually selected because they are positive and champion other women.

She is The Founder of SPEAK

SPEAK is a movement she founded that stands for Surrender, Power, Empathy, Authenticity, and Knowledge. The movement is all about motivation and self-acceptance. Her goal is to reach anyone looking to make positive changes in their lives.

She’s an Author

Through her book, “Speak: Find Your Voice, Trust Your Gut, and Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be,” Tunde shares lessons that she has learned about love, loss, body image, and how she created her brand.
