Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and More Celebrate Prince With 5-Hour Tribute Concert

What a legendary show.

There have been a lot of Prince tributes since the Renaissance musician passed away back in April but this one might take the cake as the most star-studded.

Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Jessie J, The New Power Generation and Tori Kelly, among others, all paid their respect to the Purple One by performing upwards of 45 songs from the myriad of fantastic albums Prince provided us over the years.

“It is an emotional night for me and I’m just trying to keep it together because I miss him,” Wonder told the crowd during toward the end of his set. “We talked about so much… so many plans just to make the world a better place.”

It got local too as the event kicked off with back-to-back performances from Mint Condition and Morris Day and the Time, both from Prince’s home state of Minnesota.

Perhaps the most bizarre but low-key best parts of the night included on-stage dancing by Prince’s first wife, Mayte Garcia, who flew across stage brandishing a sword.

John Mayer and Christina Aguilera were both supposed to make appearances. They were replaced by Jessie J, who killed it with a wonderful performance of "Nothing Compares 2 U" alongside Kip Blackshire. She received a standing ovation while leaving the stage.

“I feel so honored to be here tonight," she said prior to performing. "This is for you, Prince.”

President Obama even dropped a message for those in attendance. He thanked the musician and reminded everyone that his presence is everlasting.
