Terry Crews’ Wife Reveals 11-Year Parkinson’s Journey in Emotional Interview
Terry and Rebecca Crews are opening up about a deeply personal health battle.
In a new People exclusive, the couple revealed that Rebecca has been living with Parkinson’s disease since 2015, after years of mysterious symptoms that were not immediately explained by doctors. The couple said they decided to share her story now because Rebecca finally has something encouraging to discuss after undergoing a new procedure that has eased some of her symptoms.
In the interview, Rebecca said the disease once pushed her to a terrifying breaking point. She recalled a day when she had not slept for days and “felt like I wanted to die,” describing the emotional and physical toll of living with a progressive neurological disorder that can cause tremors, stiffness, and balance issues. Terry said he had spent years researching possible treatments and was determined to help his wife find relief.
That search led them to focused ultrasound, a non-invasive FDA-approved procedure that uses sound waves directed into the brain. The 60-year-old mother of five underwent the treatment at Stanford Hospital on her right side and has already seen meaningful improvement, including a reduction in tremors and better control of her body. She is expected to return later this year to treat her left side as well.
For Terry, the hardest part has been watching his wife suffer, but he made it clear that their marriage has only grown stronger through it all, adding, “We’re going through this together.” Rebecca echoed that devotion, crediting Terry as her rock and saying she is determined to keep living fully while hoping her story helps others facing the same diagnosis.
“God told me, ‘Keep living, Rebecca. Keep living like you’re healed,’” she said to People. “I couldn’t do that before. I couldn’t even print out my name or fill out a form [due to the tremors]. But I can now.”
