‘The Challenge’ Star Ashley Cain Announces He Will Soon Become A Dad Again After Infant Daughter Died Of Cancer 2 Years Ago

“I was put on this earth to be a father,” said the reality star.

Ashley Cain from "The Challenge" on CBS is getting a second chance to be a father.

The reality star revealed to The Sun that he is expecting a baby boy with a woman he dated this year, as reported by PEOPLE. He also said they first met 15 years ago. The announcement comes two years after his 8-month-old daughter Azaylia Diamond lost her battle with leukemia in 2021.

News of the pregnancy left Cain speechless.

"I got a message saying that she needed to speak to me so I went to see her and she told me she was pregnant — I can’t put into words how that felt,” he explained to the outlet.

He continued, “I believe, after having Azaylia, that I was put on this earth to be a father. And then the thought of potentially having another child after losing one was very difficult to understand for me. I believe, after having Azaylia, that I was put on this earth to be a father. And then the thought of potentially having another child after losing one was very difficult to understand for me.”

“Even though this next part of my journey is going to be hard, I truly understand that every child that comes into this world is a blessing,” he said.

In 2021, Cain announced on social media that his baby girl –whom he shared with ex-girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee– had died. At two months of age, the infant had been diagnosed with "a rare and aggressive form" of cancer in October 2020 that returned in February 2021 after a stem-cell transplant.

Following Azaylia's death, the parents took to social media to commemorate her life and legacy on Instagram.

Cain shared a touching post and a sweet photo of him holding her in his arms. "Rest In Paradise Princess 👼🏼🌈 I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven ❤️😢."

Vorajee also paid tribute to their baby girl. "You are my Angel my heartbeat my soul, RIP my precious baby, you will always be with me like a handprint on my heart."
