What Say You? Activist Jesse Williams Pictured Wearing Yeezys After Kanye’s Slavery Comments

Do we think wearing his shoes is still OK?

Grey’s Anatomy’s Jesse Williams is turning heads, but not in a good way at the moment.  The actor and activist, who was once (maybe still for some) at the top of our Black boy joy list, has us giving a little side-eye.

While Kanye West is now in Wyoming searching for self-discovery and coping with the aftermath of recent Trump-supporting tweets, we have to wonder what effects his antics had on the Yeezy brand. Would those of us who are keeping our “woke” efforts strong and are out here consistently advocating for the Black Lives Matter campaign ever be caught in a pair of Yeezy’s?

Jesse Williams, who has proved to be passionate about the cause and ensuring our people’s voices are heard across major platforms, has certainly shown that Kanye’s beliefs are not detrimental to his love for Yeezy sneakers. The 36-year-old has been spotted wearing the “zebra” color Yeezy boosts 350.

And most recently (like yesterday) he was spotted in NYC in the Yeezy Boost 700 “OG.” (See here.) You have to wonder, how can someone this “woke” support a brand whose designers beliefs about slavery are asinine and who is in support of President Trump. Two factors that are completely the opposite of being “woke.” Not to mention, Jesse was so quick to cut off H&M and shame the brand for their racist "monkey" sweatshirt ad. Isn’t this the same thing, actually maybe even worse?

What do you guys think? Could Jesse be fake “woke” because this is hypocritical? Or nah, it’s still good that he is supporting Black business even after all of Kanye's foolishness?
