​D'Wayne Wiggins, the influential guitarist and founding member of the R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné!, has passed away at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. The family informed the public on its official IG page.

Born on February 14, 1961, in Oakland, California, Wiggins co-founded Tony! Toni! Toné! in the late 1980s alongside his brother Raphael Saadiq and cousin Timothy Christian Riley. The group seamlessly blended soul, funk, and gospel influences, producing timeless hits such as "Feels Good," "Anniversary," and "It Never Rains (In Southern California)." Their innovative sound earned them critical acclaim and commercial success, solidifying their place in R&B history.

Beyond his work with the band, Wiggins was a visionary producer and mentor. At his West Oakland "House of Music" studio, he played a pivotal role in nurturing the early careers of artists like Destiny's Child, Alicia Keys, Keyshia Cole, H.E.R., and Kehlani. His commitment to fostering new talent left an indelible mark on the music industry, influencing a new generation of artists.​

Wiggins' contributions extended beyond music production; he collaborated with a diverse array of artists, showcasing his versatility across genres. His work with Too Short, Ludacris, and other prominent figures highlighted his ability to bridge musical styles and eras.
