‘The View’ Reportedly Gave Wendy Williams ‘Open Invitation’ to Appear on Daytime Show as Guest Co-host

The host’s eponymous talk show is ending this summer.

Viewers of the Daytime Emmys award-winning show The Wendy Williams Show hasn’t seen the last of their talk show queen Wendy Williams just yet as the series is set to be canceled later this summer.

According to Radar Online, the people over at The View recently extended an “open invitation” to the 57-year-old as she continues to deal with ongoing health issues. Per an unidentified source, “the buzz within ABC is Wendy could well be joining The View.

The individual also claimed that “there is an offer for her to appear on the show whenever she wants. The open invitation has made it very clear that when Wendy wants to give her first TV interview since losing her own show, there will always be a seat at the table for her.”

The outlet noted that while the offer wasn’t to host full-time, it could lead to more long-term. The dynamic could make for an exciting show co-hosted by EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and television host Sara Haines.

While no official statement has been released regarding the alleged report, it does come on the heel of Williams’s recent potential comeback announcement.

During a phone interview with Good Morning America Thursday (Mar. 17), speaking directly to her fans, the longtime host said, “This is what I want to say to my Wendy watchers. Keep watching because I’m going to be back on the Wendy Show. Bigger and brighter than ever.”
