Wendy Osefo Speaks Out for the First Time Since Fraud Arrest

The ‘RHOP’ cast member assured fans that “God remains faithful” after facing 16 fraud charges and confirming her departure from Wesleyan University.

Dr. Wendy Osefo is making it clear that God’s got her covered as she addresses the recent shocking fraud allegations.

On Instagram, following her fraud charges, Osefo posted a picture and captioned “And through it all, GOD remains faithful.”

She continued, writing, “Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful,” before giving her fans a call to action to watch Sunday’s episode of Potomac.

The “Real Housewives Of Potomac” star was arrested on 16 fraud charges, stemming from a 2024 burglary that occurred at their residence while on vacation, according to a report by BET.com

According to reports, the couple claimed that around 80 luxury items, including jewelry, designer clothing, and shoes valued at over $200,000, were stolen.

However, in a recent statement, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland revealed that “detectives found that over $20,000 of items reported stolen had been returned by the owners to the locations the items were purchased. Further, detectives found images of a homeowner wearing jewelry that had been reported stolen after the burglary took place.”

A rep for the 41-year-old reality star spoke to TMZ and gave a statement after the couple was released.

“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues,” the rep shared.

"The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”

She then resigned from a faculty position at Wesleyan University, despite claims of being fired, according to a report by BET.com.

“Dr. Osefo made the voluntary decision to step down from her role. This decision was made independently and communicated directly to the university before any external reports surfaced," the statement shared.
