Lil Baby and Young Thug Reunite on the Stage at LIV Miami Beach

Miami got the ultimate start to 2026 as Lil Baby and Young Thug shut down the stage together at LIV.

Lil Baby finally picked up the phone.

On Friday, January 2, Lil Baby was performing at LIV Miami Beach when he pulled out the ultimate surprise: Young Thug. The two Atlanta rappers shared the stage performing some of their biggest hits and shutting down all the assumptions about tension between them. The packed club was full of notable faces who also witnessed the special moment, including Busta Rhymes, Flava Flav, and the recently engaged G Herbo.

For fans who followed the back-and-forth over the last year, these performances are like closure. During Thug’s legal battles, tension ran high. Lil Baby reportedly stopped answering Thug’s calls at one point, a fracture Thug addressed on his upcoming album “UY SCUTI” in the track “Man I Miss My Dogs.”

The song itself is a mix of vulnerability and loyalty. Thug reflects on the pressures of fame, the scrutiny of social media, and his fear of losing Baby “to the internet.” He frames his message as both an acknowledgment of past mistakes and a promise to stand by his friends, referencing shared hardships from private moments of grief to navigating the aftermath of his incarceration.

Accountability is the main topic in Thug’s lyrics. He repeatedly apologizes for any role he may have played in Baby’s struggles, making it clear that misunderstandings or public criticism were never personal. Lines from the song also address peers like Drake, 21 Savage, and Mariah the Scientist, offering explanations and mending fences where needed.

Two of Atlanta’s biggest stars peacefully made it through the emotional turbulence of legal battles and internet drama. The timing feels spot on with 21 Savage’s “F**k the streets” campaign blowing up. On Twitter, he called out the so-called “street code” that’s causing trauma, death, and unnecessary beef, referencing the fallout between Gunna and Young Thug.

Since then, he’s gained support from several artists like Pooh Sheisty, YFN Lucci, G Herbo, and Young Thug in the movement.
