Papoose Defends Claressa Shields After Viral Prank Sparks Physical Altercation
Papoose doesn’t play about his girlfriend, Claressa Shields, as the rapper is rumored to have physically assaulted TikTok comedian Gerald Huston.
The assault occurred after Huston, who is known for purposely mistaking celebrities and everyday people by their wrong names, continuously called the Shields tennis legend Serena Williams, fueling “The Nacirema Dream” artist to punch him in the face.
A video went viral over the weekend, showing the aftermath of the incident.
The stitched clip starts with Huston showing his bruised nose, before saying in the camera: “You see my nose. Papoose just hit me with a book.”
He then continued, joking, “Play silly games, win silly prizes, right?”
Then the clip shows Shields breaking down the incident on her Instagram Live, recalling Huston walking up to her and the rapper shouting, “Oh my God, there goes Serena! Serena! Serena!”
"And all of us who was around looked at him like 'Bro, what is you doing?,'" she said.
She confirmed that he didn’t have a camera in hand and wasn’t familiar with the comedian or the stunts he performs during his celebrity encounters. She confirms in the clip that she has “nothing against him,” but would’ve preferred he had asked her and prepped her beforehand.
"That's the type of content he do, I think he would've been better off if he just asked me before he came and cracked that joke like that, then it wouldn't have been so bad,” she said.
As she tried to ignore the TikToker and have a conversation with J. Prince, the founder of Rap-A-Lot Records, Huston continued to troll and follow her.
"He keep stepping to me. Now this is where my man, my man, my man, Pap step to him like 'Aye bro, chill out,'" she said, giving Huston a warning.
"'She said that’s not Serena, leave her alone.’ He stepped to Pap because this is what he do. He’s like 'Hell, I did it already.'"
Without revealing much, Shields shares she was very shocked by Huston and his boldness, but alluded to her man physically assaulting Huston.
“I don’t have to say nothing. Anybody that knows Pap knows what happened, but that’s all that happened."
