A relative says a body found south of downtown Memphis is that of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright.

He had been missing for 10 days. Wright was last seen July 18, when he was expected to take a flight.

Police will only say they're investigating the death of an unidentified man beside a wooded area about 15 miles south of downtown. But Wright's uncle told the AP the family had been told by police that Wright had died.

Wright's mother, Deborah Marion, arrived at the scene Wednesday night with a handful of family members.

Wright played 13 years in the NBA with five different teams: the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and most recently the Cleveland Cavaliers with 17 games in the 2008-09 season.
