As Austin Bound Package Explodes At FedEx Facility Trump Is Slammed For Remaining Silent

"Why the hell is the President of the United States ignoring the fact that we have a serial bomber on the loose in Texas?"

As police in Texas continue their search for the suspect or suspects responsible for the serial bombing in Austin, a package containing nails and shrapnel exploded at a FedEx mail distribution facility near San Antonio, injuring one person.

Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Austin-bound package detonated. The FBI sent agents to the scene in order to investigate if this package is connected to the series of bombs that occurred in Austin this month, reported ABC News.

Tuesday’s explosion took place at a FedEx facility in Schertz, a San Antonio suburb about 65 miles southwest of Austin. Authorities described the package as a medium-sized box containing nails and metal shrapnel. The box exploded on a conveyor belt, police told KSAT-TV.

Jim McClusky, a spokesman for FedEx, said one employee was injured and treated at the scene.

The injuries to the worker were "possibly from the sound of the device going off," Lt. Manny Casas of the Schertz Police Department told ABC News.

Police said they "hope" this is an isolated incident and have not yet determined if this has any connection to the serial Austin bombings.
