Cam Newton's Little Brother Caylin Helped Howard Pull Off The Biggest Upset in College Football History
If you put money on Howard University to beat UNLV, a big payout is in your future (or you may have already received it).
On Sunday (September 3). the Bison pulled off the largest point spread upset in college football history. Led by Caylin Newton, Cam’s brother, Howard was a 45-point dog against the Rebels, but that didn’t seem to matter as they won 43-40 in Las Vegas.
Caylin had a monster game, throwing for 140 years and a touchdown while running for another 190 and scoring twice with his legs. He also was responsible for the game-winning score after he tossed a 42-yard pass to Anthony Philyaw with 7:34 left to go in the game.
The Rebels didn’t score the rest of the game, including on the final play of the game with 13 seconds remaining. The win is the first-ever for Howard coach Mike London, who was Virginia’s HC from 2010 to 2015.
