Chris Brown Remains Jailed as Rapper HoodyBaby Is Charged in 2023 London Club Attack
Chris Brown isn’t the only one facing serious legal trouble over an alleged 2023 nightclub attack in London.
According to TMZ, the R&B singer’s associate and rapper HoodyBaby appeared in a London court on Saturday (May 17) where he was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the same February 19, 2023, incident that led to the “Use Me” singer’s arrest.
Brown was charged one day earlier and remains behind bars after allegedly striking music producer Abe Diaw in the head multiple times with a tequila bottle at Tape London nightclub. The incident reportedly left Diaw hospitalized with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, footage obtained from the venue places Brown at the club on the night in question. Diaw later filed a civil suit, alleging he was beaten unconscious.
His legal team told TMZ they are “pursuing all legal remedies to hold [Brown] accountable.”
As previously reported, the Grammy-winning singer was arrested at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester last week.
Authorities say they’ve been investigating the matter for months, and HoodyBaby’s arrest signals that the case may expand even further.
Brown’s next court date is set for June 13, complicating plans for his upcoming Breezy Bowl XX Tour, which is scheduled to begin June 8 in the Netherlands.
As of now, there’s no official word on whether the tour will be postponed or canceled.
