Halle Bailey Dedicates Song to Son Halo for Mother’s Day
Halle Bailey shared a self-written song dedicated to her toddler, Halo, in a Mother’s Day Instagram post.
On Sunday, May 11, the actress-singer posted a reel of her singing to Halo, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend, streamer and rapper DDG.
“This is Halo’s song. This is a song mommy wrote for Halo,” Bailey began in the video below while her son playfully danced along.
“I know you’re gonna be okay, baby/ I’ve got something waiting for you crazy/ I want you to hold on to me baby,” the vocalist sang.
“No, no I’ll never need somebody,” she continued. “But you, you are all I need, my somebody, my baby.”
The video ended with Bailey giving Halo a playful kiss, but the post was also dedicated to “amazing women” who’ve “birthed tiny little humans.”
“i wrote this song for my halo as he has given me the greatest love i’ve ever known. to all the moms out there, we are so strong, we are resilient, celebrate yourselves today !!!” Bailey captioned the post.
Last March, Bailey dedicated her single “In Your Hands” to Halo, who made a cameo in the music video.
“The verses that I wrote, I wrote when I was pregnant, and in a way, it has like a double meaning,” Bailey said in a livestream at the time. “So the verses almost are to Halo, because I felt like I was singing to him just about how I'm always going to be here for him, and my journey as his mother, and all these things."
