Mother Dies of 'Sheer Heartbreak' Following Son's Suspicious Death
In Glennville, Georgia, a family is mourning the loss of both 20-year-old Tee'Andrick Lawson and his mother, Tasha Lawson, 48, who died just 11 days apart. Tee'Andrick was found dead in a bedroom at his mother's home under suspicious circumstances, which family members believe was a hate crime. Tasha, devastated by her son's death, passed away shortly after, with the Ware County Coroner citing natural causes.
"Their bond was deep and unbreakable — best friends who did everything together," Terreona Harrison, a family member who launched a GoFundMe, said according to PEOPLE Magazine. "The pain of losing her son was too much for her heart to bear, and just days later, she passed away from sheer heartbreak. This double loss has left their family shattered."
DeAsia Mackey, a cousin of the deceased, wrote on Facebook: "Crazy thing is.. In November 2009, we lost our great-
grandmother after losing our grandmother ... same way, heartbreak. It’s real."
The fundraiser’s page highlighted the deep bond between mother and son, stating they were "best friends who did everything together." The page further notes, "The pain of losing her son was too much for her heart to bear, and just days later, she passed away from sheer heartbreak. This double loss has left their family shattered."
Tasha's daughter, Terreona Harrison, expressed her grief on social media, writing, “"[Y]'all wouldn’t understand the pain of losing a child, I was by my ma side you motherf---ers will never understand the pain of watching a parent go through pain and stress wondering what happened to their child," Terreona Harrison wrote a few days after her mother's death.”
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Hazlehurst Police Department are investigating Tee'Andrick's death. Family members allege that he was killed by intruders while staying at his mother's home. They are calling for justice and a thorough investigation into the alleged murder.
Tasha's sister, Stephanie Green, voiced the family's demand for justice, stating on Facebook: ""The only thing I need help with is making sure my nephew's killer experiences the same pain my nephew and sister felt. Until justice is served ain’t nobody talking bout NATHIN!!!!!"
Social media tributes and the fundraiser highlight the immense grief experienced by the family, emphasizing the need for support for Tasha's four surviving children.
