Rihanna Shares Throwback Pictures of Sons, Calls Birth the ‘Most Powerful Thing’ She’s Done

The artist and entrepreneur celebrated the birth of her “little miracles” RZA and Riot Rose for International Women’s Day.

For International Women’s Day, Rihanna shared a sentimental Instagram post dedicated to her two sons with A$AP Rocky, RZA and Riot Rose.

On Saturday, March 8, the singer and multi-hyphenate businesswoman shared a photoset of RZA, 2, and Riot, 19 months after each was born. Rihanna has long celebrated the achievement of motherhood, and in her caption, she called birth “by far the most powerful thing” she’s “ever done as a woman.”

The 9-time Grammy winner went on to call her sons her “little miracles” and joked about what she was wearing at their birth.

“And yes I gave birth in pearls and sunglasses…don’t ask, a lot was happening,” she concluded.

In the first image, Rihanna nestles RZA while wearing a stack of gold and pearl necklaces, while the second photo shows her in a sassy pose in pink shades and holding baby Riot.

RZA and Riot can look forward to a new animated film starring their mom as a voice actor. Rihanna will star as Smurfette in “Smurfs,” which releases on July 18. Rihanna last discussed motherhood in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, which was published last month.

“RZA is just an empath. He’s so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything,” she gushed about her first child. “And Riot, he’s just hilarious. When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream. Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing. And I’m like, ‘Okay, here we go!’ He’s my alarm in the morning! He’s not taking no for an answer from anyone. I don’t know where he came from, dude.”
