2021 Soul Train Awards: 3 Things to Know About This Year’s “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist” Giveon

Do you think the R&B crooner has what it takes to take home the win?

Giveon appears to have hit the ground running since releasing his debut Garden Kisses and opening up for R&B songstress Snoh Aalegra on tour.

Since then, the baritone singer has been singing his way into the hearts of R&B music lovers. In 2020, the  Long Beach native was given the Drake treatment after appearing on the rapper’s single “Chicago Freestyle,” which introduced the singer to a whole new--and massive--audience. The song ultimately peaked at No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot 100, making it his first appearance on that chart.

This year, Giveon reached another milestone after being nominated for the 2021 Soul Train Award  for “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist”, a title previously held by Grammy-award winner Chris Brown.

Ahead of this year’s event we made a list of some fun facts about our nominee to get you a bit more acquainted. Check it out below.
