Wendy Williams to Make Broadway Debut in Chicago

Talk-show queen will play Mama Morton.

Wendy Williams is ready to conquer new frontiers!
The talk-show queen and best-selling author will make her Broadway debut as Mama Morton in Chicago, which she announced earlier this week. The statuesque beauty tells the newspaper that she's already clearing her throat to sing her character's signature tune, "When You're Good to Mama," a song she says, "requires more sass than hitting operatic notes."
Williams makes her stage debut on June 25 and will remain with the production until August 11. Queen Latifah was nominated for an Oscar for her big-screen portrayal of Mama Morton, and the character was also previously played by Chandra Wilson and Sofia Vergara
