Young Thug Takes Aim at Rappers Turned Rats as Fans Suspect Diss Toward Gunna

A controversial tweet and changes in concert performances hint at a deeper rift between Young Thug and his former collaborator.

Young Thug is letting the world know where he stands when it comes to snitches.

In a recent tweet, the rapper writes “If u a rapper and u a rat, u gotta just go gospel twin.”

This comes off the heels of his single released in April with Future called “Money On Money.”

“Brother, you a rat,” he rapped in his first verse. “Twin, you a rat, you smoked.”

Many believe these remarks are directed at Gunna, who accepted an Alford plea deal in December 2022. Under this type of plea, a defendant maintains their innocence while acknowledging that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict.

Gunna was subsequently released from jail after spending several months behind bars following his indictment alongside Young Thug in the sweeping YSL RICO case.

During his set last month at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival, while rapping lyrics to the Gunna-assisted record “Ski,” the 33-year-old muted the “One Call” rapper’s name in the back track.

During an interview with GQ in April, when asked about the status of his relationship with Gunna, he remained coy.

“Everybody wondering that,” he began.

“I don’t know.”

In May, Gunna shared a gym selfie revealing his tattoos, prompting fans to notice that his YSL tattoo had been covered up. While neither he nor Young Thug has publicly confirmed any falling out, subtle actions like this continue to fuel speculation about a growing rift between the two artists.
