Former president George W. Bush hasn’t said much since he left Washington in January after Pres. Obama’s inauguration.

Now, he has broken his silence. In a biting attack on three of President Obama’s big initiatives – the Stimulus package, closing the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay and health care reform – the last President defended some of his own policy decisions and argued that his successor is wrong on key issues.

 “You can spend your money better than the government can spend your money," Bush said to a group of business leaders in Erie, Pa., reports the Washington Times.

He continued his critique, railing on Obama’s effort to “nationalize” health care and his decision to close Gitmo.

There are people at Gitmo that will kill American people at a drop of a hat and I don't believe that -- persuasion isn't going to work," said the former President.

The former President currently lives in a Dallas suburb with his wife.
