Wait, Do Police Believe Birdman Is The Person Who Ordered The Shootout On Lil Wayne's Tour Bus?

Young Thug's name is reportedly in the mix as well...

According to TMZ, Cash Money Records leader Birdman is currently under investigation for the 2015 shooting attack on Lil Wayne’s tour bus in Atlanta.

In a peculiar twist of sorts, the site’s confirmation of the report arrived the same day (Thursday, September 27) as Weezy’s long-awaited, legally-battled release of his twelfth studio album, Tha Carter V.

If you’ll recall, the 3-year-old shootout broke out as Wayne was leaving a nightclub performance in the wee hours of Sunday morning. No one was injured, including Weezy himself. But, the gunman, who was later discovered as Jimmy Carlton Winfrey (also known as PeeWee Roscoe) received 20 years for the shooting with half of the sentence served behind bars. Other sites report that he later had the conviction overturned. Thus, it would seem that after capturing and convicting the shooter, the smoke from the situation would be cleared three years later.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case, as TMZ now reports that law officials have their eye on Weezy’s estranged father figure and Cash Money ruler for his possible role as ringleader of the entire ordeal.

  • Cobb County law officials allegedly shared with the site that they’re, indeed, investigating Baby

The site doesn’t share details on official evidence or any cause for raise of suspicion from authorities. However, XXL reports that the driver of Wayne’s tour bus at the time is pointing the finger at Baby for conspiring with the shooter and putting a hit out on the bus in the first place.

  • Birdman’s not the only one police are sniffing around for the investigation either

Multiple sources report that police are also naming Atlanta trap music stunner Young Thug in possible connection with the shooting. Winfrey was Thugger’s manager, and according to the driver’s lawyer Jeff Gewiritz, he’d received eight calls from the rapper in just 12 minutes right before the shootout occurred.

Currently, none of the involved parties, including Thugger, Birdman, nor Weezy, have responded to the reports.
