George Zimmerman Celebrity Boxing Match Canceled Again

The Trayvon Martin Foundation rejects the promoter's donation offer.

The Trayvon Martin Foundation wants none of that "very bloody" money promised by the latest promoter who attempted to run with the idea of putting on a celebrity boxing match featuring George Zimmerman.

According to TMZ, reps for the Foundation said it "stands boldly against any act of violence" and would reject any donations pulled from the proceeds of such an event.

"I respect the wishes of the family and in light of this we are canceling the event," promoter Alki David told the site.

The fight attracted over 15,000 possible opponents for the man who shot Trayvon Martin to death. Game and DMX were among the household names on the list. But it also attracted a petition currently signed by more than 28,000 people who concluded that the match was "using murder and racial hate" to gain viewers.

The first promoter, Damon Feldman, reportedly backed out after receiving threats to his family. There is "more to life than money," he said, "... people's feelings meant more to me." is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
