Jay Z's longtime Roc, La Familia "consigliere" John Meneilly no longer has his seat at the table, reports the New York Daily News.

Sources are offering varying accounts, one saying that the split was "amicable and mutual" and another offering, "It wasn't his choice to go."

Meneilly has worked with Jay since the Roc-A-Fella days and is said to have brokered the famed Samsung deal of last year and the selling of Rocawear for $200 million in 2007.

He came to the label from Provident Financial Management, where he made partner in his early 30s, according to author Dan Charnas' industry insder book, The Big Pay Back. Roc-A-Fella was a client of the firm; he was hired full-time from there and served as finance chief until he was ousted by Dame Dash. Meneilly-onaire was swiftly re-hired by Jay to help build Roc Nation.

Further details of the split remain speculative for now, as per usual with Hov's business.
