Lupe Fiasco Has More Thoughts On Kendrick Lamar And TDE Is Not Having It

"Go kick and push yourself into a tree with these wild allegations."

After critiquing TDE’s Kendrick Lamar as a “phenomenal” storyteller but not a “top-tier lyricist,” Chicago emcee Lupe Fiasco has now taken a different angle in his shots at TDE’s rap prophet.

His history with commentary aimed at K-Dot is a bit storied, dating back to September 2016 where he admitted that the DAMN. artist had the upper hand in making better music than him. A year later, Lupe claimed that he’s one of the greatest lyricists to ever do it, calling out overrated rappers without naming anyone specifically. Fast-forward to 2018, and he’s not only finger-pointing at K-Dot as one of those overhyped hip-hop names for his epic “Control” verse that ruffled some rap feathers, but also accusations of biting Lupe’s creative works for the new single off the Black Panther movie soundtrack, “All The Stars.”

  1. If you’ll recall, Lupe’s original tweets shot down any 'hype' surrounding Kendrick’s most momentous rap career highlights, like the 'Control' verse and his Grammy-nominated ‘DAMN.’

  2. On Friday (January 5), Lupe threw shade on Kendrick and SZA’s 'All The Stars' artwork for its similarities to his 'Drogas Light' single cover...Well, one of the covers…

  3. But both of TDE’s presidents, Dave Free and Terrence 'Punch' Henderson, suggest he dim down a notch — after all, they’ve got enough shine from K-Dot’s 2018 Grammy nod
