See How Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Brand Is Using Profits On Bras To Support Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and plenty of our favorite fashion and beauty brands are supporting the cause. While most are familiar with the pink ribbon motif, many brands are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness this month by donating proceeds from sales to various organizations like Susan G. Komen, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Bright Pink. These organizations help fund research, treat patients, spread awareness, and offer other various forms of support for this important cause.
According to the World Cancer Research Fund International, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and the second most common cancer overall. However, Black women are 42% more likely to die from the disease than their white counterparts, according to Cancerhealth.com. So here at BET we wanted to highlight brands who have committed a portion of their sales, if not all, to various organizations working toward finding breakthroughs in treatment and prevention for October and beyond.
Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty line debuted a $60 Savage X Thrivers VIP Box which includes an assortment of pink bra and panty sets to help raise money for her Clara Lionel Foundation. The proceed will go towards helping a group of young women living with aggressive forms of breast cancer. Rihanna says, “I want to raise awareness for under-served breast cancer communities and the Savage X Thrivers VIP Box represent young women of all walks of life living and thriving with cancer, the easiest way for people to get involved and make a difference is by shopping this box and collection."
Take a look below at 17 brands who are committed to the fight!
