Kayla Nicole Says She’s Done With Athletes And Ready To Date The Men Who Run The Teams
Kayla Nicole is officially switching up her dating draft, and athletes are no longer making the cut, but their bosses just might.
On the latest episode of the podcast, “Boyfriend Material” with Harry Jowsey, the media personality joked that her romantic playing field has expanded in a very intentional way.
After casually asking Jowsey if he had any “owner friends,” Nicole made it clear she’s aiming a little higher these days.
She told him she’s retired from dating players, but she’s very open to the men signing their checks. “I keep saying I don't want to date any more athletes,” the entrepreneur explained before adding, “but I'm down to date the owners of the teams.”
That’s when Jowsey immediately tried to toss his hat in the ring.
The podcast host shot his shot with Kayla, mentioning that he actually co-owns a Los Angeles rugby team. This didn’t win over Nicole, as she responded by saying “And 10 other, 20 other women.”
“You seem like you come with a lot. I’m not gonna lie,” she joked.
While she was unapologetic in her response to the podcast host, the 34-year-old had to issue an apology recently due to old tweets resurfacing linking her to homophobic and racist language, a controversy that followed after she deleted her X account, according to a report from BET.com.
In an Instagram story, she reflected on how jarring it was to see her old words cycling back into the conversation.
She acknowledged the pain they caused, writing that she wanted to “sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago.”
Looking back at them now, she said she felt “ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way,” calling the comments “ignorant, hurtful, and completely wrong.”
Nicole added that the person she is today wouldn’t echo those views at all, emphasizing that the woman she has grown into “would never use those words or express those kinds of views.”
