Trump Models Is Shutting Down for Good

Another one bites the dust.

The Trump Organization is pulling the plug on Trump Models, which will now join the fate of Trump Steaks, Trump University, Trump Airlines and Trump Magazine

The New York City-based modeling agency was under fire last year after at least three foreign models claimed they were hired to work in the U.S. illegally and under "modern-day slave" conditions.

Then, earlier this month, rumors began to surface that the agency would be disbanded and on Monday the company's president, Corinna Nicolas, confirmed to the staff in an email that the Trump Organization has chosen to withdraw from the modeling business according to the New York Daily News.

"On the heels of the recent sale of the Miss Universe Organization, the company is choosing to focus on their core businesses in the real estate, golf and hospitality space," Nicolas wrote in the email, which was obtained by Mother Jones. "Trump Models, during its 18-year run, was an amazing success and we are immensely proud of the opportunities that we have provided to so many talented individuals."

Details that Trump Models allegedly hired models illegally emerged almost simultaneously to Melania Trump's past immigration status. President Trump has maintained an 85 percent stake in the 18-year-old agency.
